As a organization working towards women health care & hygiene, it aimed at targeting girls at menarche in the semi-urban and rural areas in order to improve their menarche and make it cleaner, sanitary and more understandable to them.
Challenge
Menstruation which is the prestigious inaugural ceremony of womanhood is still shrouded by myths & taboos. It has many negative cultural attitudes like, menstruating women and girls are ‘contaminated’, ‘dirty’ and ‘impure’. The challenge was to start an active conversation in the society to break the taboos.
How we solved
The best way to break the taboo is to start talking about it. We planned a # TAG campaign to start the conversation. Around 50+ women from various backgrounds taken part on this campaign as influencers. It started a snowball effect generating a massive response from both men & women of various age, caste and profession.
